Here are the top stories today in Bedford:
- Congratulations Author Michael Davidow of Bedford, who announced the release of his latest novel, The Hunter of Talyashevka. The novel takes place in 1926 in the Ukraine capital of Kiev and is described as "a thoughtful journey through the mythology and the beauty of the Jewish past." Davidow spoke about his new book and Jewish history Wednesday at Temple Israel Synagogue in Manchester. Davidow is the author of several other books. You can read more about his books and discussion here: (InDepth NH)
- Did you know that New Hampshire has 14 airports? And they may soon be flying high with big improvements, thanks to the bipartisan federal infrastructure package. New Hampshire's airports will receive a total of about $9.2 million in the first five rounds of funding. The Federal Aviation Administration funds can be used to invest in runways, safety, terminals, airport-transit connections, and roadway projects, according to an FAA news release on Thursday. The airports will be able to submit projects they wish to fund to the FAA. You can find out more here: (WMUR)
- A driver was trapped and had to be cut from his car Saturday night on Second Street by Wendy's, a route a lot of people travel to Bedford. The car collided with a private snowplow around 7:30 p.m. during the first significant snowstorm of the year. The accident caused significant damage to the driver's door, but it appeared that the driver and operator of the pick-up truck were not seriously injured.
