Driver Flees From Single-Vehicle Crash On Everett Tpk In Bedford
A man was seen running from the crash and located later on South River Road by police. The man was transported to a Nashua hospital.
BEDFORD, NH — New Hampshire State Police and Bedford fire and rescue teams responded to a single-vehicle accident on the Everett Turnpike just South of the South River Road overpass on Friday.
When responders arrived at the scene at about 6:30 p.m., they found a vehicle against the Jersey barrier and no occupants were in the vehicle. Troopers learned the driver fled on foot in the direction of South River Road from the turnpike.
Bedford police assisted state troopers in searching for the driver who Bedford officers located near 169 South River Road. The man was seen running and was covered in blood.

Police detained the man and placed him in handcuffs. Bedford Fire and EMS were summoned to South River Road and evaluated the man and placed him on a stretcher and transported him to a Nashua hospital.
The man had unknown injuries, however, he appeared to be speaking to medics and police.

Bailey’s Towing removed the vehicle from the turnpike and was assisted by NH DOT moving traffic around the accident. Traffic backed up for about 1 hour while the accident was investigated and the vehicle removed.
It is unknown what if any charges the man will face from the accident and running from the scene.
