Here are the top stories today in Bedford:

  1. A shoutout to Paul Okonak, vice president of management services of Evergreen Property Management in Bedford, who offered advice about "How Handle When Things Get Out of Hand — Conflict Management" in co-op, condo, and HOA communities, published recently in Cooperator News. Okonak notes, "the board can often manage residents’ expectations by holding open meetings" and "keeping the community fully informed of its actions." He added this can be accomplished through board newsletters, posting meeting minutes, providing fully transparent financials and welcoming new members to the community. 2. Audition for the holiday musical "Miracle on 34th Street"! Adults, teens and children are invited to audition on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 6 p.m. for the Majestic Theatre production of this holiday favorite. The production will be directed by Jocelyn Duford with musical direction by Keith Belanger. Auditions and rehearsal will be held at Majestic Studios in Manchester, with performances from Dec. 8-10 at the Derry Opera House. 3. Male students accused of creating trading cards "to grade female classmates" appeared in the Edmonton Sun in Canada, while in a recent Union Leader article, Bedford officials said that "no photos of girls exchanged violated state law." On Wednesday, Bedford High School principal Bob Jozokos posted a final update on the investigation to parents on the school's website saying disciplinary measures, if any, will be handled privately. 4. What happens when a group of students and their parents visit a fictional American desert town in the mid-50s for "the Junior Stargazer Convention?"
