Fired Cop Formally Charged in Hit-and-Run
Stephen Coco allegedly left two Bedford teenagers severely injured in a snowbank.

The alleged hit-and-run involving former Manchester Police Sergeant Stephen Coco made Bedford Patch's list of the "Top 3 Bedford Stories of 2013."
The story is sure to extend into 2014 now that the 17-year MPD veteran has been formally charged with two felony counts of conduct after an accident, charges tied to a March 22 incident in which Coco, after reportedly leaving a social gathering, allegedly struck two Bedford teenagers, leaving them bloodied by the side of the road.
He was fired days later, a decision that was recently upheld by an arbitrator.
Coco reportedly agreed to a plea deal, which would have led to a drastic reduction in jail time, but it was rejected in November by a Hillsborough County Superior Court judge.
According to WMUR, the indictments on the two felony counts were handed down earlier this week. Coco, who is facing up to seven years in prison on each charge, is set to begin trial March 3.
