Winner, winner, chicken dinner! Nearly 200 people lined up for the restaurant's grand opening on South Willow Street in Manchester.
MANCHESTER, NH - Nearly 200 people lined up outside the Golden Corral on South Willow Street Thursday in anticipation of the ribbon cutting and grand reopening.
The restaurant at 655 South Willow Street had closed in September after struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.
John from Manchester was first in line and had arrived at midnight to secure his spot. He was among one hundred people awarded certificates for free meals for a year.

Many of the people we spoke to were customers at the restaurant until it closed in September. They were excited to have the buffet available.
Golden Corral Buffet & Grill is a popular destination for buffet-style dining, offering a wide array of American comfort foods.

The restaurant features an extensive menu, including steak, meatloaf, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, fresh salads, and desserts such as cakes and cookies.
Opening its doors in August 2020, the Manchester location marked Golden Corral's first venture into northern New England. To adapt to COVID-19 guidelines, the restaurant initially operated at half capacity, implementing cafeteria-style service where staff served guests at each food station.
Despite these efforts, the Manchester Golden Corral faced operational challenges. The owners, Lenny and Nancy Abreu, and business partner Steve Leary, had been attempting to sell the restaurant since November 2023.
Unfortunately, the establishment closed abruptly in September 2024. The closure disappointed many patrons, as the Golden Corral had become a favored spot for families and groups seeking a hearty, all-you-can-eat meal.
The location was recently sold to Sugarloaf Corral Management LLC, which is led by founder and CEO Ray Blanchette and operations partner Dale Broach. Blanchette is also the CEO of TGI Fridays, which recently closed its location at the Mall of New Hampshire.
Blanchette and Broach want to add additional locations across New England.
Before re-opening in Manchester, Springfield, Massachusetts was the nearest Golden Corral location to Manchester.
