Here are the top stories in Bedford today:

  1. Snow is expected to blanket the state Saturday, starting mid-morning. Snow will continue through Saturday night with 4 to 12 inches expected, according to National Weather Service Meteorologist Sarah Thunberg. Snow will end Sunday morning with 6 to 8 inches expected in northern New Hampshire, and 4 and 6 inches in southern New Hampshire. The White Mountains are expecting 8 inches to a foot of snow or more at higher elevations. You can read more here: (The Union Leader)
  2. A cup of hot soup is perfect on a cold winter day. WMUR asked viewers to recommend the best soups in New Hampshire, and three places were on the top of their list. The number one choice was Granite State Lunch Box in Manchester, with one viewer saying the soups are "always hot and fresh." In Nashua, viewers liked Collins Brothers Chowder Co. They sell a variety of soups from a pint to a gallon and also offer take-out meals, like shepherd's pie.   3. If you plan to go out on Christmas Eve, there are a few restaurants that will be open. The Bedford Village Inn Restaurant is open Christmas Eve for lunch and dinner but will be closed on Christmas Day. Reservations are needed. Carrabas Italian Grille in Bedford is open on Christmas Eve from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and T-Bones in Bedford will be open on Christmas Eve from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Carrabas and T-Bones will be closed on Christmas Day. The Copper Door in Bedford will be open on Christmas Eve with the last reservation at 8 p.m., closing at 10 p.m., and will not be open on Christmas Day.
