Last Weekend of Summer for Bedford Students
Here are five things you should know today in Bedford.

1. Back to school blues. While some schools in New Hampshire and other parts of the country don't welcome students back until after Labor Day, Bedford students head back a week early. The first day of school in Bedford is Tuesday, Aug. 27. Click here for bus routes and other valuable back-to-school information.
2. Missing landscape equipment? A Bedford resident posted the following on our Bedford Patch announcement board: On Monday the evening of 8-19, in the area of New Boston an Wallace rd., I found a piece a landscaping equipment. If you can identify it and it is yours, please contact me for its safe return. If it's your equipment, please leave a comment here.
3. The weatherman says ... High temperatures once again dip into the low 80s today as summer vacation creeps to an end. Today's forecasted high, according to Weather.com, is 80 degrees, with a 20-percent chance of rain and an overnight low of 67 degrees.

5. Possible 2016 presidential hopeful in NH today. U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), a possible GOP candidate for president in 2016, will be in New Hampshire tonight. He's scheduled to attend a New Hampshire Republican State Committee fundraiser in Dublin. The event is being held at Knollwood Farm beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $100.
