- Is your bank branch closing? Eastern Bank and Cambridge Trust will close 11 branches in New Hampshire and Massachusetts on April 19, 2024, if Eastern Bank receives approval by federal and state banking agencies for the proposed merger. Cambridge Trust said employees of closed branches will keep their jobs and be reassigned to other locations. The Cambridge Trust Branch at 99 South River Road next to Starbucks is planning to close. The closest branch that will remain open is Eastern Bank at 1 Atwood Lane in Bedford. (Cambridge Trust)
- Master electrician, a jazz musician, and a restaurant owner: Norman Lepine of Bedford passed away at the age of 83. He leaves behind a large family and a legacy of community involvement in the Town of Bedford. (nashuatelegraph.com)
- A tractor trailer loaded with vegetables rolled over near the southbound on-ramp of Interstate 293 by the Amoskeag Bridge around 11 p.m. Wednesday night. First responders found a tractor-trailer on its side. If you were traveling south on I-293 to Bedford, the right lane was closed for 12 hours until the produce could be removed, and the truck could be towed. The driver from Canada was treated at the scene for minor injuries. (Patch by Jeffrey Hastings)
