Here are the top stories today in Bedford:
- New Hampshire residents waited patiently in long lines to vote in the midterm elections. The Secretary of State said more than 590,000 voters were expected to vote in New Hampshire Tuesday. In Bedford, voters in vehicles were lined up between Route 101 and Bedford High School, waiting about 45 minutes to cast their ballots. (Patch)
- Theodore Luckey, who was convicted of murdering two men in a Bedford hotel in August 2021 was sentenced to life in prison on Monday. Luckey, 43, of Asbury Park, N.J., pleaded guilty to "two counts of first-degree murder" for killing Nathan Cashman, 28, with a machete, and David Hanford, 60, by suffocation at the Country Inn & Suites on South River Road. - Games are "getting intense" for top 10 post-season football teams in the playoffs. Nashua, who holds the No. 2 spot in the Division I playoffs, will face Bedford, who moved into the No.7 spot after a decisive win against Windham on Saturday. The Bulldogs will face Nashua at Stellos Stadium on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Go Bulldogs! (Subscription/The Union Leader)
- Don't forget to sign up to play futsal with the Bedford Athletic Club. Pre-K through second graders played futsal on Saturday in BAC's session 1 Winter Rec Futsal Program.
