Man Held On Murder Charge Accused Of Assaulting Corrections Officer
Raymond Moore is accused of throwing urine, feces, and assaulting a guard serving his food; he was released on PR bail before the murder.

MANCHESTER, NH — Raymond Moore, awaiting trial for stabbing a Manchester man to death on a trail, is facing a new felony charge for aggravated assault on an officer.
Manchester police were called to the Hillsborough County House Of Corrections for a reported assault on a corrections officer that occurred at the end of October. Police learned Moore threw urine and feces at the officer, and struggled with him as he was trying to serve food to Moore.
Moore was in Unit 2B and the sole occupant of cell 2104 when he yelled, “I’ll flood this shit,” court documents said. There was urine and feces on the floor and in the toilet, as the officer tried to secure the cell door, Moore threw items at his abdomen and arm and struggled with him.

After the investigation, Moore was charged with aggravated assault by a prisoner, a Class B felony. If found guilty, the penalty is 3.5 to 7 years and up to a $4,000 fine.
Moore, formerly from Mississippi, arrived in Manchester at the beginning of July and was listed as homeless on court documents. He had previously been arrested in Manchester for an attempted stabbing, criminal threatening, and falsifying evidence charges but was released on personal recognizance bail.

Days before the murder, Moore was arrested in Nashua for disorderly conduct and two counts of resisting arrest. He was released the same day on personal recognizance bail.
In September, days after being released, he was accused of fatally stabbing 75-year-old Daniel Whitmore multiple times on a Manchester rail trail. He fled to a Walmart a short distance away and was arrested by Manchester police and charged with murder.
When arraigned on the murder charge, the judge ordered that he be held on preventative detention. He remains at the Valley Street Jail awaiting trial on all the charges.
