Man Killed, Woman Seriously Injured In Manchester Motorcycle Crash

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester Police, Fire, and AMR ambulance responded to Elm Street and Merrill Street for a report of an accident involving a motorcycle and pickup truck on Sunday.

Responders arrived just after midnight and found an Indian Motorcycle had struck a Nissan Frontier pick-up truck. A man operating the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene, and a woman was transported to the Elliot Hospital with serious injuries. Police said the driver of the truck was uninjured.

The motorcycle driver was identified as Justin Theos, 31, of Manchester, who did not survive the crash. The passenger on the motorcycle, a 30-year-old woman from Manchester, sustained serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital. The driver of the Nissan, a 34-year-old woman also from Manchester, was not injured during the crash.

Based on witnesses and video surveillance from the area, the pick-up truck traveled west on Merrill Street while the motorcycle drove north on Elm Street. The pickup then pulled into the motorcycle's path.

The cause and factors of the crash are under investigation by the Manchester Police Department Traffic Unit.

A short time after the Elm Street accident, a second accident occurred on Willow Street, which was closed down while it was investigated.

A motorcycle in that accident struck a New Hampshire State Police cruiser and the motorcyclist was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated.
