Man Suffers Serious Facial Injuries In Incident In Manchester

Manchester police cordoned off a large area with crime scene tape and temporarily closed Kelley Street on Wednesday.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester Police were actively investigating what they believed was a possible assault that left a man with serious and possibly life-threatening injuries on the west side of Manchester.

Fire, police, and AMR ambulance responded to the area of Kelley and Joliette streets Wednesday morning for a report of a man with serious injuries on the stairway between an apartment building and a local business. A person was treated at the scene and rushed to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Police cordoned off an area with crime scene tape and closed Kelley Street. Manchester police detectives were at the scene, gathering video evidence from local businesses and documenting the scene.

UPDATE:

Upon arrival, officers found a man on the ground with significant facial injuries. He was conscious and breathing but unable to respond to questions.

During the investigation, detectives gathered evidence indicating that this incident was not an assault and instead appeared to be an accident. The man is currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
