Manchester Police Arrest Man Accused Of Shooting A Pregnant Woman
Corey Raikes faces second-degree assault and felon in possession of a firearm charges after an incident in June at a Bell Street apartment.

MANCHESTER, NH—- Manchester police have arrested a 27-year-old Manchester man in connection with an investigation of the shooting of a pregnant woman in June.
On June 10, police were sent to a residence in the area of Bell and Hall streets for a report of a 35-year-old pregnant woman who was shot. The woman suffered non-life threatening injuries, and her unborn child was not harmed.
Police learned the victim was struck when a bullet entered her home, and evidence indicated the gunshot came from the area of 292 Belmont St. As part of this investigation, officers and investigators went to an apartment in the building.

When officers attempted to contact the occupants of that apartment, all were uncooperative and barricaded themselves inside. Manchester SWAT entered the apartment and located five people. All five were charged with resisting arrest. One of those people was Raikes.
Manchester Police Spokesperson Heather Hamel said detectives spent a significant amount of time on this case, working diligently to identify the responsible party. Through the course of the investigation, they were able to determine that Corey Raikes, 27, of Manchester was the person who fired the gun.

Raikes has been charged with second-degree assault with a firearm, two counts of felon in possession of a firearm, and falsification of physical evidence, all felonies.
Raikes will be arraigned on the new charges on Monday in Hillsborough Superior Court North.
