Massachusetts Man Involved In Pursuit Spanning Massachusetts and New Hampshire

MERRIMACK, NH — A Massachusetts man wanted on an active felony warrant was arrested Tuesday morning in Merrimack, according to state police.
The arrest followed a high-speed pursuit that spanned two states and ended when his vehicle crashed off the F.E. Everett Turnpike. The incident began just before 4 a.m. Tuesday, when New Hampshire State troopers were alerted by the Lowell MA Police Department about a pursuit in progress. Lowell officers were chasing a 2006 Ford Escape, driven by 20-year-old Dominick Howard of East Wareham, MA, who was wanted on a felony warrant in his home state.
As Howard crossed the state line into New Hampshire, troopers took command of the pursuit on Route 3 northbound near Exit 6 in Nashua. The driver accelerated, reaching speeds of 100 mph as he continued north on the Everett Turnpike.

Troopers successfully deployed a tire deflation device near Mile Marker 9.8. The disabled vehicle continued for a short distance before losing a tire and veering off the right side of the road near Mile Marker 12.2 in Merrimack.
Following the crash, troopers detained the three passengers inside the vehicle. However, Howard fled the scene on foot, disappearing into a nearby wooded area. A search involving troopers and officers from the Merrimack Police Department was immediately launched but was initially unsuccessful.

Howard was eventually spotted back in the vicinity of the crash site around 9 a.m. Merrimack Police assisted troopers in taking the suspect into custody without further incident.
Howard is facing multiple charges in New Hampshire, including disobeying a police officer, reckless conduct, resisting arrest, and reckless operation. He is also being held as a fugitive from justice due to the active Massachusetts warrant.
Two of Howard's adult passengers were released without charges. A third passenger, a juvenile, was charged with resisting arrest.
Dominick Howard is scheduled to be arraigned in Merrimack District Court on Wednesday.
