Here are the top stories today in Bedford:

  1. Unexpected hidden treasures may be hiding in historic homes in Bedford and across New Hampshire. Tune in to new episodes of Antiques Roadshow to see what treasured are found at the historic Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods. The multiple Emmy award-winning PBS series will air on Monday, Jan. 3 at 8 p.m. The series returns this year with "fan favorites" and "celebrity surprises," according to executive producer Marsha Bemko. This season promises to have "quintessential Roadshow moments that we all miss and crave," Bemko said. Some of the treasures discovered in this season are an antique car and a $100,000 sculpture. 2. Bedford High School is one of the top five schools in a list of The 25 Best Public High Schools in New Hampshire, according to Stacker. They used rankings from Niche to evaluate thousands of U.S. high schools based on everything from academic excellence and grades to teachers, cultural diversity, clubs and activities, health, safety, resources and facilities, and sports. Bedford High School received an A rating, ranking fifth. The number one spot went to Hanover High School, with an A+ rating. Congratulations to the high schools in the top 25 list this year. 3. With COVID-19 cases at an all-time high in New Hampshire since the pandemic began, the New Hampshire House of Representatives, which is one of the world's largest elected bodies with over 400 members, has to decide where they will meet. They have not met in their chambers since 2021 due to pandemic concerns. They have previously met on the playing field at the Bedford Sportsplex where there is better ventilation and it's possible to keep a safe distance, but some Republican members said they were frustrated with the Sportsplex, saying people couldn't be seen clearly because of the distance and wanted to return to Representatives Hall. Members of the House who are medical doctors said it would be like "rolling out the red carpet" for COVID-19. You can read more here: (WMUR Manchester)
