Missing Bedford Elderly Couple Found In New York

The elderly Bedford couple Norman Lepine, 79, and Shirley Lepine, 77, who were reported missing Thursday, were found Friday in New York.

BEDFORD, NH — The elderly Bedford couple reported missing on Thursday were found Friday in New York after being involved in a minor vehicle accident.

Norman Lepine, 79, and Shirley Lepine, 77, who both have dementia, escaped injuries in the accident in upstate New York. The are being evaluated at a hospital, Bedford police said early Friday afternoon.

The Lepines were found after a search involving multiple police agencies, including those in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, and Vermont. Police used GPS tracking and other devices as they attempted to track down the couple.

Before they were found, police had said that the couple's daughter last saw her parents at her home in Bedford around 3 p.m. Wednesday. The couple had plans to drive to a restaurant in Tamworth after the visit, but police do not believe they made it there.

Norman and Shirley were then seen around 6:30 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 90 near Waterloo, New York, traveling in a white 2018 Audi A8. New York State Police saw the couple before the Lepines were reported missing.
