Police Surround Federal Building In Manchester After Possible Threat

Update: Several officers and Federal Protective service have closed down streets around the Norris Cotton Federal Building on Friday.

MANCHESTER, NH — The Manchester police dispatch log indicated officers responded to the Norris Cotton Federal Building at 275 Chestnut St. to check the security of the building Friday.

Officers arrived at about 6:15 p.m. and began closing down several streets surrounding the federal building. According to sources, authorities were notified of a potential bomb threat.

Several officers surrounded the building while awaiting an officer from Federal Protective Services to respond.

About 7:15 p.m., an officer from Federal Protective Services arrived and walked to the back of the building with Manchester police officers.

At this time two Manchester police K-9 units are at the scene but no K-9s have been deployed at this time.

At around 8:15 p.m., police cleared the scene and would not comment on the situation.
