Public Hearings This Week on School and Town Budgets
Here are five things you should know this week in Bedford.

1. Have your say on how your tax dollars are spent. The Bedford School Board holds a public hearing on Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. Bedford also has scheduled public hearings for Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. on the following items:
- 2014 Proposed Municipal Budget
- Expenditures from the Land Capital Reserve
- Amendment or Repeal of Sunday Sales Ordinance
- Proposed Amendments to the: Tax Increment Financing Distric, Development Program, and Financing Plan.
3. Commute hazard. In addition to icy roads, Monday morning's commute will also be hampered by thick low cloud cover. Due to visibility being restricted to a quarter mile or less an many areas of southern New Hampshire, a dense fog advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service through 10 a.m. Monday.
4. Warm weather? Today's forecast, according to Weather.com, calls for temperatures to rise to 48 degrees. The downside? It's expected to rain throughout the day as there is a 100-percent chance of precipitation today. Temperatures drop again quickly, however, as Monday night's low is 13 degrees.
5. Get your 2014 hunting or fishing license. New Hampshire fishing and hunting licenses for 2014 are now available for purchase. Get yours early and be set for a WILD year of outdoor adventure, from ice fishing this winter to bagging your deer next fall. Licenses are good for the calendar year, from January 1 through December 31, 2014. Purchase online at wildnh.com, at the N.H.
