Denise Ricciardi Thanks Bedford
Grateful for the outpouring of Bedford Cares volunteers, Ricciardi expresses her thanks.

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to our Bedford community, our Bedford school district, and the families and local businesses that helped with Bedford Cares Ukrainian efforts.
We filled six truckloads of essential items such as medical supplies, blankets, tents, lanterns and more. These essential items were flown to Warsaw and distributed by volunteers through the Catholic University. The items less essential but needed such as clothes and non-perishable items, toys and books for children were driven to New Jersey and put on a ship to be received in 3 to 4 weeks.
I am grateful for the outpouring from our community, especially to those who came to my home and dropped off all of these items, to the children of Bedford who made so many beautiful cards and pictures for the Ukrainian children, the Bedford School district that placed boxes at all 6 schools to collect items, and in general the generosity of the families who donated.

A special thanks to The Inside Scoop for the many first aid kits they donated, and to all the Bedford Cares volunteers who spent endless hours and weekends sorting and boxing everything for shipment.
Most of all what I am thankful for is that we live in a community that can truly come together and work hand-in-hand, side-by-side to help people in great need.
