Bedford Trick-or-Treat on as Scheduled for Tonight

Bedford public safety officials made the decision during a meeting Tuesday afternoon.

While other local communities such as Merrimack and Amherst decided to postpone Halloween activities for the second-straight year, Bedford department heads and public safety officials met yesterday to assess the option of changing Bedford's trick-or-treat date as well.

After discussing the state of road closures, downed trees and power lines and other deterrents with the Bedford DPW and other departments, the decision was made by Police Chief John Bryfonski to move forward as scheduled to hold trick-or-treating Wednesday night, Oct. 31, between 5 and 7 p.m.

The afternoon assessment determined that with the exception of limited current street closures (see below), Bedford children should be able to trick-or-treat safely as long as they and their parents observe normal safety precautions.
