Two Homeless Men Found Dead Of Suspected Overdoses In Manchester
A man was found dead in the stairwell of a parking garage, and another in a tent under the Bridge Street Bridge. Overdoses are trending high
MANCHESTER, NH - Manchester Police, fire, and AMR ambulances have responded to multiple calls Monday morning where the person was found to be deceased at the scene.
A call at about 5:45 a.m. to the stairwell of the Victory Parking Garage on Vine Street for an unresponsive person. Fire and EMS cleared the scene and turned the scene over to the police.
Manchester Police Spokesperson Heather Hamel confirmed that the death in the parking garage does not appear to be suspicious. The body of an adult male was removed and transported by a local funeral home. The age and identity of the man have not been released by authorities at this time.

We have confirmed through sources the person in the garage is known and is part of the homeless community. A small encampment was set up on Vine Street over the weekend. Outreach workers tried to convince the people to move into available shelters but they remained on Vine Street.
Two other deaths in Manchester were in residential locations and appear to be people that have died from medical incidents.

Manchester Police, fire, AMR, and outreach workers responded to a small encampment under the Bridge Street Bridge for an unresponsive person found in a tent on the side of the railroad tracks.
The person was pronounced deceased at the scene and Manchester Police processed the scene which had makeshift tents and personal belongings. Initial information is that the death appears to possibly be related to an overdose based on evidence at the scene. The person who died under the bridge is an adult male, police have not released his name or age.
Manchester Fire Chief Ryan Cashin verified that over the weekend everyone had access to the new 24/7 shelter on Beech Street. Although they were at capacity no one has been turned away due to the extreme cold.
