UNH Student From Bedford Struck By Vehicle Seriously Injured In Durham

DURHAM, NH — Durham Police, fire, McGregor EMS, and UNH Police responded to the area of Main Street for a report of a single vehicle that struck a pedestrian on Tuesday.

Responders arrived at about 6:25 p.m. and found a 2015 Buick SE Enclave, operated by Conor Lovett, 21, of Franklin, Massachusetts, was traveling westbound on Main Street between Depot Road and Sage Way when the Buick struck a pedestrian crossing in a crosswalk.

The pedestrian, Brian Faxon, 21, of Bedford was assisted on the scene by civilian witnesses until first responders arrived. He was transported by McGregor EMS to Portsmouth Regional Hospital and later med-flighted to Maine Medical Center for serious injuries.

Faxon and Lovett are both UNH students.

The operator of the vehicle, Lovett was not injured. He remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
