SUV Refuses To Stop For Bedford Cops, Eventually Crashes In Manchester

Police discontinued following a vehicle that refused to stop. Later, it crashed on Second Street and an unresponsive man was treated.

BEDFORD, NH — Bedford Police and New Hampshire State Police attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of the Manchester and Bedford town line on Thursday.

The vehicle reportedly fled from officers attempting to stop it and traveled in the direction of Manchester. Bedford and state police discontinued following the vehicle and relayed the description to area towns and cities of a black SUV with temporary plates.

At 11:08 p.m., 911 received calls about a multi-vehicle crash in the area of 140 Second St. Manchester police, Fire, and AMR ambulance responded to the report of the crash and that the driver was unresponsive.

When responders arrived, they found a black SUV with temporary plates that had crashed into a fence and several cars parked in a parking lot. The impact pushed three vehicles into each other, and the driver was removed from the vehicle by police and firefighters.

The driver was given Narcan and oxygen, and became responsive, and was brought to the waiting ambulance on a stretcher. While in the ambulance, officers were summoned as the man appeared to become combative with medics. Witnesses said the man approached the area at a high speed and drove with the vehicle's headlights off.

Manchester police are investigating the accident. Bedford police left the scene following the ambulance to the hospital.

At this time it is unknown if the driver is facing any charges.
