Here are the top stories in Bedford today:

  1. The Wildcats won in an exhilarating game Saturday afternoon against Arizona State, 5-4! The winning overtime goal was by University of New Hampshire men's hockey senior captain Chase Stevenson (West Kelowna, British Columbia). A shoutout to sophomore defenseman Alex Gagne (Bedford, N.H.) and freshman defenseman Damien Carfagna (Wood-Ridge, N.J.) who "each posted an assist" on a goal at 18:51. Stevenson scored twice, including the overtime win. Catch the action on the ice when the Wildcats play Union in Durham on Dec. 30-31 at 4 p.m. (UNH Athletics)
  2. Make a warm, cozy blanket for a cold winter night — without knitting! One of the Cozy Knit Blanket Workshops is tonight at 6:30 p.m. Yes, no knitting needles are required. Just pick out one color for a solid blanket, or two colors for a striped blanket, and after the 2- to 3-hour workshop, you'll leave with your own, warm, handmade blanket. Tonight's event may have filled up but call (603) 913-9217 to see if space is available, or register for the Dec. 28 workshop by Dec. 26. (Bedford Patch)
  3. Did you love the "heartwarming" story in "Lessons In Chemistry?" The book by Bonnie Garmus is about a woman who "forged her own path " in the 1960s. Browse the Bedford Public Library book carousel online to find other titles perfect for holiday reading. Find out more here: (Bedford Patch)
