CONCORD, NH — Three candidates are running for the open Ward 4 Concord City Council seat after Karen McNamara decided not to run for re-election.

Two of the candidates — Mark Davie and Jeffrey Garrett Tynes appeared on Concord TV to explain why they are running for the seat in a forum also sponsored by Patch.

A third candidate, Elijah Wilson, declined to attend.

The candidates answered questions about property taxes and budgeting, housing and the city’s homeless crime wave, tax base expansion, whether taxpayers should fund a sanctioned homeless camp and whether they would advocate to get other communities to help offset Concord’s costs of helping the homeless, and automated trash pickup and the purple bag tax.
