Goffstown Firefighter Dies At Fire Academy

A firefighter has passed away from a illness while doing a test at the New Hampshire Fire Academy

CONCORD, N.H. — Department of Safety Commissioner Robert L. Quinn, Division of Fire Standards and Training and Emergency Medical Services Director Deborah A. Pendergast, and Goffstown Fire Chief Brian H. Allard announce the passing of Fire Captain Steven W. Tower, 54, Monday.

Around 1 p.m. Tower, a member of the Goffstown Fire Department, became ill after completing the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) on the campus of the NH Fire Academy in Concord. On-scene firefighters and paramedics immediately rendered aid and Concord Fire Department transported him to Concord Hospital where he later died.

The Department of Safety extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Tower.
