📰 News we're reading

• City Of Concord: New Statewide Motor Vehicle Fee Schedule (patch.com) — Concord residents should plan around a new statewide motor vehicle fee schedule taking effect January 1, 2026, which will apply to all transactions processed on or after that date. Online renewals shut down December 27 while software is updated, so anyone renewing December or earlier registrations must visit the Collections Office at 41 Green Street, with January renewals available online after January 2.

• Concord's overall housing supply grew sluggishly this year, but projects targeting young people, families succeeded (concordmonitor.com) — Concord saw only modest overall housing and tax-base growth this year, even as specific projects like Fisherville Road townhouses, Circa apartments, and Stickney Avenue lofts added units for young adults and families. Major proposals at Steeplegate Mall and along the river remain stalled, leaving city leaders to juggle flat property values, big project costs, and new state housing laws in 2026.

• New Hampshire plow names narrowed down to 15 finalists (mychamplainvalley.com) — Concord residents are at the center of a fun statewide contest as New Hampshire picks names for seven state snowplows from 15 public-suggested finalists. Only New Hampshire residents can vote, and the winning names will appear on plows patrolling Granite State roads this winter. You can browse all the playful, locally inspired options online before casting a ballot.
