Manchester Man Injured In ATV Accident In Stratford, NH
Riders assisted a victim onto an ATV to drive him to an area where they had cell coverage and could call for help
STRATFORD, NH - On September 4, 2020 At approximately 4:30 PM a ATV accident occurred in Strafford, NH according to NH Fish and Game.
NH Fish and Game said Brian Bourque, 39, of Manchester, New Hampshire was operating an ATV with a group of friends and family on the Bordeau Trail in Stratford. Bourque was leading his group of riders when he failed to negotiate a right turn on the trail. He traveled to the outside of this turn into a ditch where his machine rolled over onto him, pinning him between his ATV and a boulder.
Bourque’s riding companion’s quickly came to his aid, lifting the ATV off of him and assessing his injuries. Unable to call for help due to the lack of cell coverage, Bourque was loaded into a UTV and was transported toward Christie Road in Stratford. Once to cell coverage a 911 call was made.

A response from Stratford Hollow Fire Department, Groveton Ambulance and NH Conservation Officers began. Responders ultimately located Bourque and his companions on Christie Road. Bourque was transported by Groveton Ambulance to Weeks Medical Center for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Concluding an on-scene investigation of the crash, Conservation Officers believe the primary factor of the crash to have been unreasonable speed. Bourque was subsequently issued a summons for unreasonable speed.
