Seriously Injured Dirt Bike Accident Victim Flown By DHART
NH Fish and Game say a 22-year-old Swanzey man was seriously injured in a dirt bike accident requiring a med-flight helicopter

SWANZEY, NH- On Friday, July 24, 2020, around 6 PM, a NH Fish and Game Conservation Officer responded to a wooded area east of Hale Hill Road and Old Richmond Road in the Town of Swanzey after a 911 call was made for a dirt-bike crash.
Tyler Mattson, age 22, of Swanzey, NH, was operating his dirt-bike down a trail when he hit rocks and crashed into a tree. A friend who was riding with Tyler called 911 for help. Tyler was wearing a helmet and eye protection at the time of the crash; however head trauma and a leg injury was evident. Tyler was transported out of the woods to an ambulance where he was then DHART flighted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon for further evaluation and treatment.
Swanzey Police Department, Swanzey Fire and Rescue, Richmond Fire, and Keene Fire Department assisted NH Fish and Game with the incident.

Excessive speed and operator inattention are the major contributing factors to this crash.
New Hampshire Fish and Game would like to remind riders to ride only in approved/designated areas unless they have written landowner permission. Fish and Game reminds people this is a good reminder to always wear your helmet and eye protection while riding within your limits at an appropriate speed for the conditions.
