Nashua Firefighters Respond To Fire At Ash Street Multi-Unit Building

NASHUA, NH — Nashua Firefighters respond to multiple calls of a fire inside a multi-unit building at 56 Ash Street Saturday.

Dispatch advised responding units at 6:55 p.m. that they were receiving multiple reports of a fire and people who may be trapped. The first firefighters arriving saw nothing outside the building. But when they entered, smoke filled the building.

The fire was located in a first-floor unit, and two hose lines were stretched and quickly knocked down the fire. Additional firefighters searched the building and verified all occupants had safely exited the building.

According to Nashua Fire Deputy Chief Kevin Kerrigan, the residence sustained extensive fire and smoke damage and was uninhabitable.

The Nashua Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire. The American Red Cross was called to assist the displaced occupants.

Nashua Fire reminds people to evacuate the building when smoke detectors sound. Exiting the building as soon as possible will provide the best chance of survival.
