Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?

I’d like to nominate Ryley LeBlanc, Pembroke Academy Senior for your Star Athlete recognition.

Ryley is a Captain of the Pembroke Academy Women’s Varsity Soccer team, as well as playing LAX for PA and playing soccer for Capital Alliance Football Club.

On the field, Ryley is a dominant player who switches from attacker to midfield with ease and leads her team as a constant cheerleader with an ever-present smile. Off the field, Ryley is an honors student planning to study sports medicine, volunteers with local youth sports organizations, and works part-time.

Ryley has been an inspiration for many as she mentors kids diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, a diagnosis Ryley has contended with since the age of 6.

Ryley is an ambassador for Type 1 Diabetes research and hopes to integrate her field of study into innovative approaches to sports medicine for players with autoimmune diseases and other physical challenges.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete?

She is a positive role model and leader.

Keep up the great work, Ryley!
