December 7, 2021

With the first snowstorm, we just got over Thanksgiving weekend, Public Works wants to send out reminders for the Winter season to all Bow residents.

Please make sure to remove temporary basketball hoops away from the road.

  1. Move parked cars and trailers away from the Town’s right of way.
  2. Make sure your mailbox is clear, visible, and structurally sound before we experience heavy snow and ice. Residents should clear snow from the mailbox area after each plowing.
  3. When plowing your driveway please do NOT plow snow across the road, prohibited by State RSAs. Doing so only creates hazards for drivers and makes it hard to keep our roads clean.
  4. Shovel snow from the bottom of the driveway to the right as you are facing the road. This will reduce the amount of snow placed in your driveway during the next plowing.
  5. On trash pickup days make sure to keep your green and blue bins off the travel way or in the driveway so the plow will not hit them.
  6. All cemeteries closed for the winter season and will reopen on April 15, 2022. Cemetery roadways are NOT plowed.

We appreciate your help with these issues, and we hope you have a safe winter.

P.S Christmas lights on mailboxes help the plow drivers from hitting them. Thank you.

Sincerely,
