Victim In Bristol Fatal Fire Identified After Autopsy
The NH Fire Marshal's Office has released additional details on the fatal fire in Bristol including the name of the man who died
BRISTOL, NH - On August 15, 2020 at 2:13 pm a 911 caller reported that there was a fire in the mobile home located on Nyberg Road. Bristol Fire and Police units responded to the scene and encountered fire coming out of the front of the residence.
According to New Hampshire State Fire Marshal Paul J. Parisi and Bristol Fire Chief Benjamin LaRoche as crews searched the building they located an adult male who was removed from the home but was unable to be revived.
The fire was able to be extinguished, and a secondary search did not located anyone else inside the home. Initially there were reports that there may have been a second person, however Parisi said that was unfounded.

The Office of the NH Medical Examiner completed an autopsy on August 16, 2020 and positively identified the victim as Barry Lassiter, age 65 of Bristol NH.
The autopsy was conducted which revealed that the cause of death was smoke inhalation and the manner of death was undetermined.

State Fire Marshal Parisi wants to remind everyone to maintain working smoke alarms in their homes, keep exits clear of debris, have your heating systems inspected and maintained on an annual basis. Keep at least a three to five foot clearance around any heating appliance from other combustible materials. The New Hampshire Fire Marshal’s Office, and Bristol Fire Department are investigating the incident. At this time the cause and origin of the fire is under investigation.
