Body Of 15-Year-Old Recovered In Governor's Lake In Raymond
Several teenagers in a canoe capsized and one of the teens was initially unable to be located. Fish and Game located the boy's body later.

RAYMOND, NH — A 15-year-old boy has died following a late-night canoe accident at Governor’s Lake in Raymond, prompting an ongoing investigation by the New Hampshire State Police – Marine Patrol.
Emergency crews were called to the scene around 11:53 p.m. on Saturday after receiving a 911 call reporting that a canoe carrying several teenagers had capsized near Governors Drive. One of the teens was reported missing and believed to still be in the water. Responding agencies included the Marine Patrol, New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, Raymond Police and Fire Departments, Raymond Ambulance, and State Troopers from Troop A. A coordinated search effort began immediately.
Divers from the Fish and Game Department recovered the teen’s body around 8 a.m. on Sunday, approximately 30 feet from shore. Officials confirmed the victim was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the incident.

Marine Patrol has taken the lead in the investigation. While the case remains open, authorities currently believe the incident was accidental. The boy’s identity has not been released, pending an autopsy by the New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner scheduled for Monday to determine the official cause and manner of death.
