EXETER, NH — The death of an elderly woman, whose body was discovered on Sunday, is under investigation by state and local officials.

The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office reported Tuesday night that the body of an elderly woman was found at an apartment on Front Street. The cause of death, Michael Garrity, the director of communications, said, was “not immediately apparent.” However, an autopsy on Tuesday revealed the woman suffered “blunt impact injuries and that the nature of her death was not natural.”

Garrity said investigators are interviewing other household members, and there is no known threat to the public at this time.
