Exeter Hannaford Holds Grand Opening

The new Hannaford store on Portsmouth Avenue in Exeter opened for business at 7 a.m. on Saturday and drew a steady crowd of curious shoppers.

The store was busy but not swamped on Saturday morning, with plenty of registers open to ensure that there weren't any long waits. The store gave away gift cards randomly valued at between $5 and $250 to the first 300 customers, and by 8:30 a.m. they were already gone.

The new store includes features like a pharmacy, an expanded bakery and an in-store dietitian.
