Exeter Hospital: Are Patients Satisfied?
One patient satisfaction indicator may surprise some.

Exeter Hospital has gotten its share of bad press over the past year with the Hepatitis C case, but the hospital scored above the state average in a patient satisfaction survey, according to U.S. News & Wold Report.
Per U.S. News' latest "Best Hospitals" ranking, 76 percent of patients at Exeter Hospital responded in a survey that they would recommend the hospital to friends and family, while 4 percent responded "probably or definitely not."
The state average for the question, based on data updated last on August 2012, was 74 percent "definitely" and 4 percent "probably or definitely not." The national average for this question: 70 percent and 5 percent, respectively.
Most U.S. hospitals survey patients about their care services, according to a federal program. The information is from the latest available data.
Other New Hampshire hospitals and their respondent percentages on whether patients would recommend the hospital to friends and family include:

In New Hampshire, the U.S. News & World Report hospital rankings put Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon at the No. 1 ranking, and Catholic Medical Center in Manchester ranked second. Many of the New Hampshire hospitals are unranked because of the rating system used. U.S. News surveyed almost 10,000 specialists and reviewed data from about 5,000 hospitals to rank the best in 16 adult specialties. Only 147 hospitals were nationally ranked in one or more specialties.
