Exeter Police, Postal Service Accuse Man Of Distributing Psilocybin Mushrooms

EXETER, NH — A man from Exeter was arrested and held on preventative detention, accused of drug possession, manufacturing, and sales.

On July 23, Exeter police, along with members of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General, and New Hampshire State Police searched a home on Carroll Street and accused Kyle T. Smith, 41, of Exeter, of distributing drugs, according to Chief Stephan Poulin. During the search, he said, “evidence of drug possession, manufacturing, and sales” was found.

Smith was arrested and charged with three felony counts of possession with the intent to distribute a controlled drug-psilocybin mushrooms and extract. He was held on preventative detention and was scheduled to be arraigned in Brentwood Circuit Court on July 24.

Poulin said the case remained under investigation.
