Earlier story

Foster's Daily Democrat is reporting that Kathryn McDonough, the girlfriend of accused murderer Seth Mazzaglia, has been indicted in connection with the death of University of New Hampshire student Elizabeth Marriott last year.

The newspaper said it isn't clear yet whether McDonough has been indicted on one or more charges. The indictments are expected to be released today.

McDonough, 19, of Portsmouth, was charged in December with lying to police about the whereabouts of Mazzaglia, who is charged with second degree murder in connection with Marriott's death in October.

According to police, McDonough lied to authorities when questioned about the whereabouts of Mazzaglia, 30, of Dover. She has been free on bail since January.

Mazzaglia has not yet been indicted in connection with Marriott's death. A judge gave the attorney general's office until April 18 to present the case to the grand jury.

The attorney general's office alleges that Mazzaglia strangled or suffocated Marriott on Oct. 9 in his Dover apartment. Marriott had attended a class at the University of New Hampshire that night and headed to Dover to see some friends.

Authorities launched a massive search for Marriott's body that began in October, but no trace of her body has yet been found. Some of the areas where New Hampshire Marine Patrol and New Hampshire Fish and Game conservation officers focused their search were around Peirce Island in Portsmouth and off Fox Point in Newington.
