Nashua Teen 4th Man Arrested After Shots Fired Call Near Exeter Town Forest
Xavier Cancel was arrested last week on a resisting arrest or detention charge after an incident in the Swasey Town Forest on April 1.
EXETER, NH — Police have arrested a fourth man accused of being involved in a shots fired incident near the Swasey Town Forest on April 1.
Xavier Cancel, 19, of Nashua, was arrested on April 16 on a resisting arrest or detention charge. On April 1, police were sent to the area of the forest for a report of shots fired. During a multi-jurisdictional search of the area, including a state police helicopter and the evacuation of a school nearby, four men were found in the woods.

Exeter Police Chief Stephan Poulin said at least two were armed with handguns and one man was wearing a ski mask.

“The four men fled on foot into the woods towards a construction development,” he said. “Three of the subjects were apprehended along with several firearms.”

Police, Poulin said, received an anonymous tip after issuing an alert with a picture of the fourth suspect. Cancel was then arrested on a warrant. He was released on personal recognizance and is due in Brentwood District Court on June 5.
