One Dead, One Injured In Plaistow Murder And Attempted Suicide

PLAISTOW, N.H. — An arrest warrant has been issued for Reya N. Jasmin, 36, who is accused of stabbing her spouse, Margaret Jasmin, 39, on Sunday.

At approximately 6:13 am, officers of the Plaistow Police Department responded to a residence on Old County Road in Plaistow in response to a 911 call.

Upon entering the home, Plaistow Police discovered Margaret Jasmin lying on the ground, deceased. She appeared to have suffered from a stab wound.

After searching the house, Plaistow Police located Margaret Jasmin’s spouse, Reya N. Jasmin. The suspect was only partially responsive and appeared to be suffering from several injuries.

Jasmin was transported to an out-of-state hospital, where she remains hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities confirmed that a child residing in the home was physically unharmed and is safe.

An arrest warrant has been issued charging Reya Jasmin with one count of second-degree murder under RSA 630:1-b, I(b), for recklessly causing the death of Margaret Jasmin. An arraignment will be scheduled at a later date, pending Reya Jasmin's medical condition.

An autopsy on Margaret Jasmin is scheduled to take place later today. Authorities said additional information will be released as the investigation continues.

The charge against Reya Jasmin is an allegation, and she is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
