Seacoast Open Studio Holds 11th Annual Holiday Show At D2 Java In Exeter

EXETER, NH — With its growing number of galleries and a diverse array of art by local artists at affordable prices, Exeter is becoming a little art mecca.

On the heels of the annual Exeter Art Tour, shoppers are returning for holiday gifts. They like that they can keep their dollars local and support local artists while strolling through this quaint historic town — and park for free.

One hidden gem is the annual holiday art show by Seacoast Open Studio, in its 11th year, at D Square Java, 155 Water St.

This coffee shop, once featured in the Wall Street Journal, is known for its single-origin coffees brewed by the cup and its hot chocolate. The SOS group of visual artists from Seacoast New Hampshire has been together for the last 20 years.

They meet on Friday mornings, 9:30 a.m. to noon, at the new Exeter Parks and Recreation building on 10 Hampton Road in Exeter.

They share ideas, inspiration and fun while creating art together, and welcome newcomers.

The SOS artists in this year’s D2 Java holiday show include Nancy Reiss, Susan Scott, Lynn Krumholz, Carol Poitras, Gerry Bresnahan, Lucretia Gordon, Judy Kopen, Barbara McGrath, Skip Berrien, Helene Alland, Susan Long, Marjorie Rizzo, Debra Woodward, and Cori Caputo.

D Squared Java is open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends. The Seacoast Open Studio Holiday Show runs through the end of December. Parking is free.
