9 New Hampshire Restaurants Make Wine Spectator’s 2022 Best List
The Bedford, Hampton, and Manchester restaurants are among 3,100-plus others that offer some of the best wine lists in the nation and world.
HAMPTON, NH — Nine Granite State restaurants out of 3,169 worldwide have been named to the Wine Spectator’s Best Restaurant List for 2022.
The list, issued annually, features restaurants that offer “outstanding wine programs” and different selection offerings to customers. The restaurants receive awards at three levels: Award of Excellence, Best of Award of Excellence, and Grand Award.
The magazine said the Award of Excellence was given to “restaurants that offer thoughtfully chosen lists, containing both quality and diverse selections that are compatible with the menu’s style and pricing.” Eateries with around 100 wine options make this list.

About 350 eateries receive the Best of Award of Excellence. Those establishments offer “a vast array of wines from top producers, wide breadth of regions, and vintage depth.”
The Grand Award, the most prestigious honor, is only awarded to “the world’s elite wine programs.” Only 97 restaurants received this award.

“I want to congratulate all 3,169 restaurants that earned one of Wine Spectator’s three awards for their devotion to all things wine,” Marvin Shanken, the editor and publisher of Wine Spectator, said. “These awards not only guide our readers to dining establishments with impressive wine lists and outstanding service but also serve to honor restaurants for their achievements and commitment to maintaining pristine cellars.”
The magazine has been awarding establishments since 1981.
