Case Progresses Against Driver Who Killed Beach Pedestrian

Danielle F. Kooyoomjian, 29, of Hampton, is scheduled to answer Wednesday to a count of aggravated driving while intoxicated in Hampton District Court.

The woman who allegedly struck and killed a pedestrian at Hampton Beach last month is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday morning.

Danielle F. Kooyoomjian, 29, of Hampton, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated at the scene of the crash, which occurred at about 1 a.m. on Oct. 13 near a crosswalk at the intersection of Ocean Boulevard and Highland Avenue.

The pedestrian — Charles Sayre, 57, of Amesbury, Mass. — was pronounced dead at Massachusetts General Hospital as a result of serious injuries sustained in the crash. 

The crash is still under investigation, and details about the incident are scarce. Police couldn't be reached for additional comment about the case Tuesday.
