Hampton Public Works Food Drive Is Next Week

In celebration of Public Works Week, the Hampton Public Works Department will host a food drive Sunday through May 25.

HAMPTON, NH — A new mini vehicle is located near the lobby of the Hampton Town Hall. The vehicle will be used to collect nonperishable food Sunday through May 25, in celebration of Public Works Week. The Public Works Department asks that community members drop off the items in the vehicle, and staff will collect the food throughout the week. The nonperishable food will then be distributed to those who are in need.

The purpose of Public Works Week is to promote public interest, gain knowledge, and understand the importance that our Public Works Department serves in the community. As residents drop off the nonperishable food items, they should feel free to bring their kids and activate the lights on the mini public works vehicle, or take a picture and have them be part of helping others.

"If you happen to see any of our Public Works Staff - feel free to thank them for a job well done!" said town officials in a statement. "We ask all our residents, businesses and visitors to learn about the issues involved in providing services and to recognize the contributions and dedication of the Town of Hampton's Public Works Staff. The Town of Hampton Public Works Department provides services that are vital to our community, thus making the health, safety and well being of the Town their top priority. They are responsible for maintaining, improving and protecting our roadways, sewer and drain systems, wastewater treatment processes, solid waste operations, equipment and facilities that are essential to our Town."
