Ice Storm, More Snow Could Hit Hampton, N. Hampton

The third storm of the week is expected to roll in Friday and Saturday, and it could bring "significant" ice to some areas.

An ice storm and more snow could hit Hampton and North Hampton on Friday and Saturday.

The National Weather Service has issued an alert for the Seacoast area and has said ice accumulations could be "significant" in some towns. Currently, Hampton and North Hampton are expected to receive periods of rain and/or snow, while nearby Exeter has a forecast that includes freezing rain.

Here are the NWS' weekend forecasts for Hampton and North Hampton, as of Thursday afternoon:

HAMPTON

  • Friday: A 30 percent chance of rain after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 41. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.
  • Friday night: A chance of showers before 10pm, then a chance of showers after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
  • Saturday: A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph.
  • Saturday night: Rain. Low around 34. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
  • Sunday: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 42. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
  • Sunday night: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a low around 34. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
NORTH HAMPTON
  • Friday: A 30 percent chance of rain after 11am. Cloudy, with a high near 40. East wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.
  • Friday night: A chance of rain showers before 4am, then a chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
  • Saturday: A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph.
