Interactive New Biz Brings 'ARTastic' Good Time for Kids

The owners of a local school will attempt to turn educational play time into every time as part of a new business focused on bringing expressive, family-friendly activities to the Seacoast.

Robin and Chris Nicholas, the owners of ChildsPlace, a school for early childhood education that been operating since 1990, will soon hold a grand opening celebration for their new venture, ARTastic Arts and Crafts Studio.

The all-ages walk-in studio is located in the same plaza as ChildsPlace at 105 Lafayette Road in Hampton Falls, and it will celebrate its opening on Saturday, Nov. 16, with a variety of creative activities, treats and raffles.

"Developing and implementing high quality programs for children and their families has always been important to us," said Robin Nicholas. "ARTastic was designed, with the vision of parents and children and all ages, having the opportunity to spend quality time together in an environment that offers a wide variety of opportunities for creativity and self expression."

The new studio offers several artistic mediums, including ceramics, plaster painting, mosaics, spin art, wooden creations and Color-Me fabrics, in order to allow for a "variety of opportunities to explore art," according to Nicholas.

Nicholas said ARTastic also has an indoor mining sluice, hosts birthday parties, and offers classes and special monthly themed nights out for all age ranges.

The studio is the first half of the new business, as "The Imagination Station" will open next door to ARTastic in January.

Nicholas said "The Imagination Station" is the "final phase" of their "vision" and will be a "creative playspace" where children can explore various buildings and parts of a town, including areas dubbed Playhouse, Fire Station, Grocery Store, Animal Hospital, Neighborhood Diner, Theater in the Park, Science Station, and Puppet Theater.

More information about the business and the Nov. 16 grand opening celebration can be found on its website, artasticartsandcrafts.com, or on its Facebook page.
