Long Delays Expected During Road Construction In Hampton

Starting Tuesday, drivers traveling on Route 101 in Hampton should seek alternative routes due to road construction.

HAMPTON, NH — Starting Tuesday, drivers traveling on Route 101 in Hampton should seek alternative routes. Long delays are expected on a portion of the road due to road reconstruction set to begin Tuesday and continue until the project is complete. The work is part of the town's water and sewer line replacement project.

The water main will be replaced from Tide Mill Road to Church Street (along Route 101). Long delays are expected along Church Street, according to the Department of Public Works. Drivers are asked to give themselves extra time when driving through that area, and to seek alternative routes. They are also asked to reduce speeds and pay particular attention to traffic control, as this will be a construction zone, public works officials say.
