Man Armed with Screwdriver Wanted for Robbing Store

Police are searching for a masked man who used a screwdriver to steal an undisclosed amount of money from a Seabrook convenience store Thursday afternoon.

Seabrook Police Sgt. Brett Walker said the suspect — described as a white man who was wearing a dark blue fleece jacket, gray T-shirt, dark knit hat, blue jeans, dark sneakers, and "light colored mask" of some kind — demanded money from the female clerk behind the counter of the A1 Stateline convenience store at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

The man jumped over the counter and pried open the cash register before fleeing the 134 Lafayette Road store in a green car that was parked outside an adjacent business, according to Walker. The car was seen heading south on Lafayette Road.

Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect and are asking anyone with additional information about the incident to contact Sgt. Brett Walker or Detective Dan Lawrence at (603) 474-5200.
