New Communal Fitness Stations Unveiled at Marston School

The "largest undertaking" ever by a Hampton Eagle Scout is now complete.

The six new circuit training stations installed around Marston School's Community Walking Path were unveiled on Friday as part of a special ceremony.

The $16,000 stations, which are accessible to the public and will be incorporated into school activities, are the work of Jason Broad. The work and fundraising served as an Eagle Scout project for the Hampton resident, and the Hampton School District is delighted to be the recipient of the area's "largest"-ever Eagle Scout project.

"This Eagle Scout project is a wonderful addition to not only the Marston School fitness walk but a terrific opportunity for the entire community," Superintendent Kathleen Murphy told Patch in an e-mail. "During the day the students under the supervision of their teachers will be able to access and complete the fitness stations as part of their physical education classes as well as during after school fun fitness activities. Everyday citizens from the community are using the walking path and will now have an opportunity to increase their fitness activities by completing the stations. Jason should be congratulated for his contribution to the community."
